Research focus and special interests
Dr. Ault's research interests are infectious diseases and women's health. He is an investigator in vaccine trials for both herpes simplex virus and human papilloma virus. Additional research in the pathogenesis of infections due to Chlamydia and gonorrhea has been supported by the National Institutes of Health. Much of this research has been multidisciplinary. Currently he has pending NIH grant applications with an epidemiologist, a physiologist and an immunologist. His clinical interests include colposcopy and treatment of cervical dysplasia and management of vaginitis and sexually transmitted diseases in women.
